North Somerset’s Children with Disabilities Team are looking to recruit a committed, passionate and enthusiastic Family Support Worker to join their team of Social Workers and Family Support Workers on a fixed term basis for 6 months.  Based in the Town Hall in Weston-super-Mare we cover the whole of North Somerset and work with children, young people and their families.


As a Family Support Worker, you will offer practical help and emotional support to families who are caring for a disabled child(ren).  You will undertake an initial assessment of the families’ needs through Family Wellbeing so that you can identify and plan the support needed to address issues the families are experiencing.  You will co-ordinate and work with the families and other agencies involved with children with disabilities, to promote a positive outcome by meeting their needs and achieving the goals identified in their service plan.
