What you'll do
As Lead Technician you will be an essential member of the Direct Repairs department, leading a dedicated team of multi-trade operatives providing a comprehensive, efficient and responsive property service delivery.
The primary focus of this role is providing a high quality responsive maintenance service to all residents, internal colleagues and partners. You will also provide clear structure and support to operatives in managing repairs effectively from inception to completion and final quality assurance.
- Supervision of a team of trades staff including allocation of workload
- Management of work stream and productivity levels
- Tool box talks and HSE monitoring
- All administrative work, managing our in-house CRM database
- Liaising with the tenants and being that point of escalation
Ideally, you’ll have worked for a Housing Association, House Builder, Local Authority or Construction contractor in a similar role as a Site Supervisor, Site Manager or Foreperson. You’ll lead by example demonstrating excellent leadership skills to create a culture adopting Optivo’s values, to inspire, motivate and develop staff at all levels, building cohesive and motivated teams who are committed to our vision and goals.
You’ll have a blended management style, supporting our operatives & residents, promoting self-awareness and a genuine commitment to improve services. You’ll be able to make sound judgements, find solutions to complex issues and problems, and identify and manage risk.
The role will work with a range of residents and colleagues, so a positive approach to collaborative team working is essential. To be considered for this position, you’ll need to have a full UK Driving licence.
