Teaching Assistant

Grade 5, SCP 8 -  Approx Actual Salary £15,462 per annum

The Governors of Wolverham Primary and Nursery school are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic teaching assistant to work within our EYFS team.

Due to an increase in numbers, we have a vacancy to work across our Nursery and Reception classes with the job role being varied. There will be some work as a general teaching assistant, some small group work and some 1:1 support. Our EYFS works as a team with all staff rotating around different areas. We are trying to maintain staff in 1 room as much as is possible due to the current pandemic at present.

We are looking for a person with energy, enthusiasm and a positive attitude. Someone who enjoys a new challenge every day. Our rooms operate both indoor and outdoor provision and have recently started using our Forest School site weekly. Have a look at Twitter to see what our children are up to. Our children deserve the best and we are looking for someone to complement our strong team.

This post is initially for 32.5 hours a week and is temporary until August 2022. There is the possibility of the post extending into next academic year.  Start and finish times can be negotiated but it is anticipated they will be from 8:15am till 4pm with a team meeting every second week.

The position is open to candidates of all levels of experience however recent experience in an EYFS setting is essential.

While we would normally encourage all potential applicants to visit the school, due to the current conditions we will only be able to do this for shortlisted candidates (in week beginning 29th November onwards).
