Teaching Assistant

Childer Thornton Primary School is seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic teaching assistant who is able to support teaching and learning in Key Stage 2, and is willing to take part in the wider life of the school. The role consists of working Monday -Friday, 9am-3pm - this equates to 27.5 hours a week and is for 39 weeks per annum.

The successful candidate will work alongside teaching and other support staff to provide general support within the classroom, but with a focus on ensuring those pupils with SEND are able to access the curriculum and make good progress. A positive approach to behaviour management is essential, as is the ability to work as part of a team.

Applicants must be highly motivated and committed to the school’s high standards of pupil achievement. They will also need to be committed to the strong teamwork ethos within our school.  Applicants will ideally have a good understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum and experience in adapting tasks to support children with SEND.

The post is temporary in the first instance until July 2022, with a view to becoming permanent.

We can offer you:

  • Friendly, enthusiastic and aspiring pupils.
  • Supportive governors and employment within a Multi-Academy Trust.
  • Committed and highly motivated staff.
  • A commitment to continued professional development

Visits to our school are welcomed. Please contact us to arrange your visit by emailing or call 0151 294 4737.

The closing date for applications is Friday 3rd December at 12pm.

Concordia Mulit-Academy Trust places the highest regard on the safety of all the children in our care and full safeguarding checks including an enhanced DBS check will be carried out before a contract and appointment is confirmed.
