Nursery Assistant - 2 Year Olds Nursery Class

TWO-YEAR OLD Grade 3 NURSERY ASSISTANT

Due to the popularity and rise in pupil numbers of our two-year- old nursery, the staff and Governors at Darnhall Primary School are seeking to appoint an experienced and qualified Early Years practitioner to join our team for two terms.

Please note: Candidates must have substantial experience in more than one setting.

Ladybirds Nursery is a happy, vibrant and nurturing environment with a warm, welcoming feel that is friendly and reassuring for both children and parents/ carers alike.  The successful candidate will enjoy contributing to an excellent working environment for pupils, staff, parents and the wider school community and will have a commitment to the well-being, safeguarding and development of the children in their care.

The role consists of making observations of the children and keeping their electronic learning journeys up to date as well as delivering activities, working alongside other nursery practitioners and the two-year-old nursery manager with a high level of commitment and care.

The role also consists of, but is not limited to, taking requests when loudly singing nursery rhymes, laughing at jokes that you don’t find funny, reading stories with at least 10 interruptions per page, zipping up over 30 coats a day, making mud pies, negotiating obstacle courses and building sandcastles in all weathers. Showing off your quirky side by dressing up and becoming an astronaut, elf, alien and all manner of weird and wonderful things. Being prepared to feel so loved and important by all our children and their families. We expect our staff to be well spoken as the speaking and listening development of our young children is vital.

The successful candidate will have a Level 3 Early Years qualification or equivalent or above.

 The role is 32.5 hours per week (8.30am – 3.30pm) – 1st January 2022 to 31st August 2022.

Apply online via the CWAC system.

Visits to our wonderful school are encouraged and you need to call 01606 593315 to book an appointment. Slots are Wednesday 24th November at 9am and 2pm

The school is committed to Safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of children. The successful candidates will be required to complete an enhanced DBS disclosure and provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK alongside proof of qualifications. References will be sought.

Closing date: Midday on Monday 29th November 2021.

We will be shortlisting during the week beginning Monday 29th November and successful candidates will then be notified of the date of interviews by email.
