The Infrastructure, Sustainability & Economic Growth service has an exciting vacancy working within Sustainability & Climate Change team. The role will work closely with colleagues and partners to develop plans to manage flood risk, ensuring the future needs for climate adaptation are built into our plans and that an ambitious capital programme is delivered.
The main purpose of this post is to fulfil the role of Lead Local Flood Authority (LLFA), which includes managing flood risk in the borough (and across boundaries), developing a Local Flood Risk Management Strategy and discharging consenting and enforcement powers for ordinary watercourses. The LLFA is also a statutory consultee for surface water drainage for major development (SUDS). With the support of delivery partners this role is responsible for delivery of the council’s flood risk management/drainage capital programmes and will be representing the borough at local and regional flood risk forums/committees.
