37 hours per week – 2 Year Fixed Term Contract

Brighter Futures for Children is an independent, not-for-profit-company, wholly owned by?Reading Borough Council. Our responsibility is to deliver quality children's services, early help, education and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) services to children and families in Reading. 
 
We are looking to recruit an Assistant Team Manager who will lead and manage a new multi-disciplinary team, using a trauma-informed, systemic approach with adolescents ages 10-17 years where the primary concern is their emotional and mental health and who are not attending school or are only attending part-time.  

 

You will provide leadership to this exciting new team aimed at supporting young people back into education.  You will manage a Youth Worker, Family Worker, 2 x Emotional Health Practitioners and an Assistant Educational Psychologist who will be providing support to a caseload of young people and families to achieve this outcome.  

 

You will be responsible for the day to day operational running of this team and will provide crucial direction and oversight in relation to families, holding supervisory responsibility for the young people and families supported by the service. 

 
You should have substantial experience working with children, young people and their families and ideally have knowledge of mental and emotional health issues and of managing staff.
