Public Health Programme Officer

The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead is looking for a Public Health Programme Officer to work within their multidisciplinary Public Health team. This is an opportunity for a highly motivated individual who wants to develop their knowledge and practical experience of working to improve health and wellbeing and reduce inequalities.

What it’s like working in our team…

The Public Health team in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead combines specialist skills and expertise with a creative and collaborative approach to improve the health and wellbeing of residents and reduce inequalities. The team is part of a wider network of public health teams across East Berkshire and works closely with the East Berkshire Shared Public Health Team and the Strategic Director of Public Health.

We will give you the support and resources you need to do your job well and provide a great opportunity for you to learn new skills, develop and progress.

You will work, with support from other public health team members, to carry out the following duties, responsibilities and training…

  • Collate evidence and use this to make recommendations about how we provide future services.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate the impact of public health programmes.
  • Support commissioners to deliver services.
  • Deliver public health messages through a range of communication and engagement routes.

What we’re looking for…

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can support the development, implementation and delivery of a range of exciting public health projects. You will be an excellent communicator. Success in this post will require you to form close partnerships with both internal and external agencies across a variety of sectors. You will have a degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (ideally public health or another health-related field) but a public health background is not essential.
