We are currently seeking an experienced Elections Team Leader to oversee the Council’s busy Elections Team. You will be responsible for managing a small team dealing with elections and the electoral registration function of the Council to ensure the continuing successful delivery of the annual canvass and all types of local and national elections, building upon recent changes and incorporating new government policies, guidance and legislation affecting the service area.
Our modern and newly configured offices in The Forum in Hemel Hempstead are in a town centre location, with staff parking available nearby. Whilst flexible and remote working is available, there are a number of activities, which will require a regular presence in the office.
This role would suit an experienced Elections administrator with supervisory experience who has excellent communication skills and is able to work methodically with a high level of accuracy. You should be confident, forward thinking and committed to improving the way things work. You also need to be able to manage a team effectively and work well as part of a team in addition to taking on individual responsibilities. Ideally you will have completed the Association of Electoral Administrators Certificate in Electoral Administration or be willing to complete the accreditation. The successful candidate will also act as a Deputy Returning Officer when required.
