Hertsmere is based in Borehamwood – just 13 miles from Central London and within the M25.  The area is an internationally renowned centre for film and television production, home to BBC Elstree and Elstree Studios.

We have an exciting opportunity within our Partnerships and Community Engagement team, for someone looking to start their career in local government

You’ll provide the full range of support to one of the Council’s key partnerships, the Community Safety Partnership, and to the wider team.  You’ll be qualified to A-level standard (at least) with training and/or experience in social / public policy and community safety or performance.  Working well as part of a busy team, you’ll have excellent IT and administrative skills and be able to work closely with senior officers and members from external partner agencies.  You will also be a logical thinker who is able to manage what will be a varied workload.

The post is offered on a permanent, full time basis (36 hours per week).  Benefits include 25 – 30 days annual leave (depending on the length of Local Government Service), plus one floating day per annum, local government pension scheme, flexible working hours (including home working), free car parking, free use of leisure facilities, cycle scheme and season ticket loans.  The Council’s Career Grade Scheme applies to the post, which means that applicant will be offered a structured training programme and accelerated pay progression.
