Looking to make a real difference in the community?

Hertsmere is based in Borehamwood – just 13 miles from Central London and within the M25.  The area is an internationally renowned centre for film and television production, home to BBC Elstree and Elstree Studios.

We have an exciting opportunity within our Partnerships and Community Engagement team, for someone looking to start their career in local government.

You’ll help the Council publicise and deliver a range of initiatives to support local voluntary and community sector organisations (VCS), including the newly launched Hertsmere Community lottery and our Community Grants scheme.  You’ll also work closely with local heritage organisations as they look to increase their online profile.

This opportunity requires someone who is degree qualified creative and confident with promotional campaigns across social media, who has strong organisational and written skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.  It will provide the opportunity to work in a small team gaining a wide variety of experience in working with partners across the voluntary sector.

If you would like to discuss the role, please contact Liz Gore (Corporate Support) for an informal chat on 0208 207 2277.

The post is offered on a fixed term (23 months) full time basis (36 hours per week).  Benefits include 25 – 30 days annual leave (depending on the length of Local Government Service), plus one floating day per annum, local government pension scheme, flexible working hours (including home working), free car parking, free use of leisure facilities, cycle scheme and season ticket loans.  The Council’s Career Grade Scheme applies to the post, which means that applicant will be offered a structured training programme and accelerated pay progression.
