Central Control Operator - casual bank staff contract
Band C, £10.63 - £11.51 per hour plus an enhancement for working unsocial hours
Would you like to make a difference and give something back to the community? Are you happy to work alone with guidance? If so this could be the job for you. We are looking to increase our Central Control Team by recruiting additional support staff to be available to work on an as and when required basis. The job is lone working and if you have flexible availability to be able to cover a variety of shift patterns throughout the week including weekends and bank holidays, evenings and nights, please read on.
Central Control is an important part of the Council’s Customer Service team providing a 365 day a year, 24 hours a day helpline service to people across the district. The team takes pride in delivering a speedy and professional response to our callers, providing a vital link via the telecare community alarms system for elderly or vulnerable people who might need assistance. We do this by, depending on the circumstances, calling on the help of a named contact or the emergency services. The team also deals with the Council’s out of hour’s emergency calls such as council tenants with housing maintenance emergencies or dangerous structures reported by the Police to name a few.
Full training will be given and an ongoing degree of self-discipline will be needed to keep up to date with any policy and procedural changes that may happen.
