Programme Manager - Savings and Transformation

We’re making a real difference over here  – come and join us?

Programmes, projects, delivery, efficiency, transformation…. If we are talking your language read on.

We are looking for an energetic, dynamic and ambitious person to support our exciting, but demanding Savings & Transformation Programme to secure the Council’s financial position for the future.  This job has the opportunity to make a real impact on the long-term sustainability of the Council and its services through your programme management input.

You’ll already have some great Programme management experience behind you and will be used to all aspects of long term, complex projects.  You will have excellent people skills which will really help you to build relationships with project teams, partners, colleagues, and Councillors.  You will be credible, highly organised, willing to grab opportunities and be innovative to achieve results.

It’s likely you will have gained some of your programme management skills within public services, and will have a varied range of project experiences under your belt.  Ideally you may have worked in delivering some savings and transformation projects before in your career and will have some experiences to tell us about when we meet.  If you can demonstrate a proven track record in managing conflicting priorities, a number of key projects at once, political sensitivity and expertise in this arena we would love to hear from you.

In return we offer you a workplace that is full of variety, opportunity to get yourself heard, many development opportunities and a really supportive environment, where you will be encouraged to collaborate and be innovative, and to be brave enough to try new things.

We’re seeking someone for up to 22 hours per week, but can be flexible with that.   We are working in a hybrid way, giving our employees real flexibility and ownership around how you plan and organise your working week.  Your great organisational and people skills will make this a breeze for you.

Take a look at the job description and person specification at the end of this page for more information & if you believe you have the skills, experience & attitude to succeed in this role, and you share our values (also at the bottom of this advert), please do get in touch.  We can support you if there are gaps in your skill set for this job if you demonstrate the right attitudes and values that fit our organisation and can help us succeed.
