Corporate Planning Officer

About us

The City of London Corporation is the City of opportunities, diversity and social impact. Our work touches lives not just in the Square Mile or even in London, but across the UK and beyond. The work we do is a catalyst for economic and social progress, and as Corporate Planning Officer you could play an important part.

The role

The role is all about making the refresh of our Corporate Plan a success. This is our central strategy that will deliver outstanding environments, a thriving economy and a flourishing society in London and beyond.

You’ll make sure that our ambitions are reflected in all our departmental business plans. Together with the Corporate Strategy & Planning Manager, you’ll engage staff at all levels to make them aware of our objectives, consulting with key stakeholders, advising senior officers on strategy and producing the key documents and analysis to track our strategy’s progress.

Beyond day-to-day duties, you’ll be the portfolio lead for a range of strategies weaving in the golden thread that connects them to the Corporate Plan, promoting collaboration, innovation and joint action-planning while flagging any opportunities or risks.

About you

We’re looking for experience in strategy, performance or an analysis-related field — you might also have a relevant qualification in this area. You should be able to develop and deliver projects or strategies which align with corporate goals. Experience working with senior leaders is essential. You’ll feel comfortable in sharing fresh ideas and identifying and cohering different viewpoints.  You will know how to present information in a range of ways to suit the needs of diverse audiences.

You’ll also be analytical, able to work with attention to detail, and a creative thinker with strong stakeholder management skills and a good knowledge of public and local government finance.

This role is offered on a full-time basis. We are open to considering applications for job share, flexible working and compressed hours working.  We are committed to Equal Opportunities and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
