COVID Response Coordinators

COVID Response Coordinator (up to 6 month contract)

£24,170 inclusive of outer fringe allowance
37 hours per week

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our environmental health team primarily to carry out contact tracing work and other interventions relating to reducing COVID-19 transmission within the Borough. 

The Role

You will need to review the daily case list and any other information sources relating to COVID-19, carry out administrative duties and maintain accurate records, undertake contact tracing, isolation and other educational and/or monitoring visits and interventions and as part of the wider environmental health team participate in other environmental health work including outbreak investigations.  You will also work in partnership with other teams and agencies i.e. Police, our local Covid Marshal Team, and colleagues at Herts County Council.

Good organisational skills, flexibility and a preparedness to work outside of regular hours will be required.

You will need to be team player with a positive attitude, have an aptitude for solution based problem solving, be able to use your initiative and must demonstrate the behaviours of Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council’s #OneTeam ethos in order to achieve the best outcomes for our residents, visitors and businesses.

 This is a frontline role, some training will be given and evidence of some relevant experience will be helpful.  You will need to be able to perform well under pressure, demonstrate excellent customer service skills and have the ability to deal with queries, address concerns and offer guidance with patience, resilience and empathy. 

The ability to converse at ease, explain, interpret legislation and provide advice to members of the public in accurate spoken English is essential to this post.  A working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and database(s) would be beneficial and you must be eligible to work in the UK, hold a full driving licence valid in the UK and have use of a vehicle insured for business use on a daily basis.
