Senior Practitioner, South Children in Care Teams

Are you on the stepping stone to management or looking to enhance your specialist knowledge in your next Senior Practitioner role?

Our size means it is possible to shape your entire social work career in the Trust.  You will have the opportunity to experience every aspect of social work within Children in Care South Locality Service ; therefore allowing you to progress in your social work practice; as well as the opportunity to forge out a managerial career, if this is your chosen career pathway.

As one of our Senior Practitioners, you’ll find everything designed to assist you in achieving the most positive outcomes.  Because we’re focused on children and young people’s safeguarding and wellbeing and nothing else, you’ll be free to do the same.

You’ll play a lead role on our relationship-based, trauma informed practice model, managing a complex caseload, providing technical and professional expertise, as well as mentoring and professional support to the rest of the less experienced social work team members and students.

We’ll also look to you to lead multi-agency forward thinking approach, encouraging robust consistent partnerships with other service teams and outside agencies, plus the police, health, schools and voluntary organisations.

About you….

This is a key role in our organisation, so naturally we’re looking for extensive experience of working with vulnerable children, families, statutory bodies and voluntary agencies within Children in Care.

You will be experienced in the legal care planning and framework as well as a lead in creative and safe secure placements centered around the child or young person.  You will be experienced within the court arena and confident in producing timely complex and robust assessments,

You will be a key team player and be instrumental in supporting all newly qualified social workers with supportive coaching and mentoring to work as an inclusive team, sharing knowledge and best practice.

You must hold a recognised social work qualification and have current active registration with Social Work England.

Your qualifications will be complemented by your exceptional skillset – including communication, sound judgement, analytical thinking, teamwork and inclusivity in your approach.
