Exploitation & Missing Co-ordinator, Exploitation & Missing Team

We are looking for an imaginative and inspiring Exploitation and Missing Co-ordinator who is able to develop assessments with a contextual safeguarding approach; and develop the links between the community and the Empower U Hub in tackling the exploitation of young people in Birmingham.

You will join an experienced and multi-agency team, who identify children and young people at risk of exploitation and/or who go missing; and develop disruption plans to address this.  You will be working from a contextual safeguarding perspective. 

You will have a background in child exploitation / missing children and have a sound understanding of all issues and impact, as well being able to identify and safeguard the vulnerability and risks to children and young people.  You will have a degree qualification or equivalent relevant qualification as a social worker.

You will be raising awareness of exploitation and missing issues amongst social workers, family support workers and youth offending workers, as well as contributing to the work with partner agencies in the city to increase professional knowledge around risks to young people from outside of the family.  You will be working within a MASH environment as well as Empower U, the exploitation hub.  

You will be part of the development towards a community approach and community involvement in this area of work.
