More about the role:

We are looking to appoint a Co-Production and Engagement Lead to drive forward and embed how we deliver the Local Area Written Statement of Action and the broader SEND improvement agenda in Central Bedfordshire.


You will be an integral member of our Children’s Services commissioning team, working alongside our SEND, education, safeguarding and early help teams.  


You will play a vital role in championing co-production in all elements of the SEND agenda ensuring it is embedded within all policy and procedure developed through the reforms. You will lead on the co-ordination of co-production and engagement events with children, young people and their families to capture their voice and experience to improve services and support. You will develop and deliver training to support council staff to embed the co-production charter to ensure co-production is at the heart of all service development


To be successful in this role you will have experience in working with children, young people and their families with SEND, as well as professionals working to support these families. You will be required to ensure Central Bedfordshire’s local offer is co-produced, meets the needs and is accessible to families and professionals.


Critically, you will report progress on the embedding of co-production as outlined in the Written Statement of Action, to the SEND Partnership Board.


To deliver what is required in this role you should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You will also need a good work ethic, even under pressure, be conscientious and hard-working and prepared to work as part of a team.
