HR Adviser

Hertsmere is located in southern Hertfordshire – we are 13 miles from Central London and within the M25.  We adjoin Greater London with excellent road and rail links making London and the Home Counties easily accessible. The Council Offices are situated in Borehamwood within Zone 6 and with a direct rail link into London Kings Cross St. Pancras.  The area is an internationally renowned centre for film and television production, home to BBC Elstree and Elstree Studios (a council owned asset).

The Council is seeking an experienced and confident HR generalist with an interest in organisational development, who is able to hit the ground running and deliver first class people management solutions for a diverse workforce, including front line and manual workers, in a time of unprecedented change. You must be able to work remotely, if required, forming strong working relationships with the HR team, service managers and other stakeholders using on-line communications and work processes as necessary.

You will ideally be degree and CIPD qualified, with a sound grasp of employment law and an awareness of the particular workforce challenges in local government. You will be an excellent communicator verbally and in writing, with the ability to efficiently time manage a diverse and busy workload.  Strong IT and administration skills are a must in this role.

The Council is small enough (300 FTE) for every employee to count and be valued and large enough in its vision and aspirations to provide you with a stimulating professional challenge, including the opportunity to collaborate on far reaching organisational changes and new ways of working.

The post is offered on a full time, permanent basis (36 hours per week).
