Casual Theatre Technician

The role

To assist the Technical Manager, Theatre Technician and Theatre and Events Technical Assistant in setting up and running theatre productions and events at The Woodville and elsewhere as required.

To assist the Front of House Senior to deliver FOH support on events e.g. event setup, customer meet and greet and event stewarding (both indoor and outdoor events)

Main responsibilities

To assist with the get-ins and get-outs of theatre productions and events.

To assist with rigging and focussing lighting as well as operating basic lighting requirements.
Support and training will be provided.

To assist with setting up sound equipment and operating basic sound requirements

To assist with flying, including loading and operating counterweight and hemp systems.

To assist with turn-arounds between shows and events

To assist with the preparation, fit-ups, operation and get-outs of outdoor events

To help with the maintenance of technical equipment

To generally assist other members of the technical and front of house team.

The position involves working at height and working evening and weekends for shows and events.

Essential qualifications/experience-

To have a basic knowledge of theatre and event lighting, sound, AV and computing requirements (desirable but not essential)

To understand the importance of Health and Safety in Technical Theatre and to implement best practise at all times
