About the role:

At Westlands we want every resident in our care home to participate and enjoy a good meal and have a good mealtime experience. By giving older people a good quality of life and a nutritious and wholesome meal we're making Central Bedfordshire a great place to live for all. As a Kitchen Assistant  you will be working directly with our residents in Leighton Buzzard and you'll find your greatness as you make sure vulnerable people are safe, well fed and happy.

This is an important  supporting role for which you will receive our full support, including full training and induction. Your main task will be to  residents in the dinning room during meal times and ensuring  the utensils are clean.  Setting the table and creating a good ambiance is something our residents all look forward to.   This will give you an opportunity to show kindness while making simple nutritious and attractive snacks for our residents.  Every resident is different, and you will need to respect their individuality. We are all about creating a friendly, supportive environment - one where independence is promoted and the residents are free to make their own choices.

Ideally, you will have worked with elderly people before, including those with Dementia and physical disabilities. However, we are interested in people with a naturally caring attitude, with a passion to serve, who is honest and holds a strong level of humility.
