Team: Family Support – Locality South - there are positions available in the Dunstable/ Houghton Regis/ Leighton Buzzard locality teams
Job Family: Supporting - Level 1 - CBG9 / Level 2 -CBG10
Salary: Level 1 - £28,591 - £31,257 per annum - Plus MRS £5,100 per annum

              Level 2 - £32,142 - £33,686 per annum - Plus MRS £5,100 per annum & Enhanced MRS £3,850 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week
Location: Watling House, Dunstable
Contract: There are both permanent and 12 month fixed term / secondment positions available

Children’s Services at Central Bedfordshire Council has been awarded social work ‘employer of the year’ alongside having been graded a ‘Good’ at our last OFSTED inspection.

This is an exciting opportunity for any social worker to develop their social work career and experience the front end of helping families and safeguarding.  We are proud that in Family Support we enable workers to gain a vast amount of experiences and opportunities in working with families who are subject to child in need, child protection and court work. We aim to work closely with families developing our use of MI and implementing systemic practise. Family support also facilitates workers the opportunity to build up a repertoire in carrying out direct work with children and young people. Family Support pride ourselves on our small teams and manageable cases loads allowing workers to undertake meaningful practice with children and their families.

You will have relevant experience in understanding the best way of applying different social work theories and come up with ideas and knowledge to deliver imaginative and ambitious interventions that improve outcomes for all involved. You will also have the communication skills to work with other agencies and present high-quality reports.
