Contract Performance Manager

We are looking for a dynamic self-starter to join our Joint Waste Client Team as our Contract and Performance Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a small but busy team, responsible for delivery of contract management functions, including service and contract performance reporting and project management for a multi-million pounds shared waste and recycling service. As the Contract and Performance Manager you will be responsible for taking ownership of and effectively managing all aspects of Contract Governance, Project Management, Management Information and Supplier Management for the service.

You will work alongside the Waste and Recycling Service Manager to set the targets for the whole contract and develop and implement the overall strategy for governance and data management to meet the strategic intent of the organisation and the customer in all areas of business.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Contract Performance Manager to join an established business in a highly varied role.

As a key contact with external agencies, suppliers, elected members,  senior officers and our client/customers you will come to us with demonstrable experience of delivering commissioning programmes and/or projects and be educated to degree level or equivalent; a background in a relevant industry such as waste management or other contracted resident services would be an advantage.

You will demonstrate extensive management experience in multi-million contracts, with knowledge and understanding of policy/ strategy development, together with an ability to lead business planning including financial management.

You will have proven experience of contract negotiations; from contract award to contract closure, including dispute resolution, innovation and continuous improvement planning.

You will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated and organised person to join our busy team. Be able to demonstrate initiative and the ability to manage complex plans and prioritise and coordinate resources to deliver business priorities within time constraints.

With an interest in learning and applying new skills around automation, contract management and dashboarding, you will have experience of setting, monitoring and reporting performance standards/measures, for example Key Performance Indicators, to manage business plans whilst maximising service outcomes in relation to time, cost and quality.

Naturally, you will have excellent interpersonal, persuasion and negotiation and influencing skills to manage communications with stakeholders at all organisational levels..

You will be able to write and present complex information suitably for a varied audience including public arenas. A proven track record of successful delivery and management of programs/projects in comparable scale services is essential.

You will be an excellent communicator, organiser, commercially aware, use your own initiative and be solution-focused. Whilst some knowledge in the Waste and Recycling sector is advantageous, the ability to demonstrate comparable scale commercial contract management and to deliver projects successfully is essential.

We reserve the right to close the application window early if we receive a high volume of suitable applications.

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
