About the role:

The South Community Assessment Service for Older Adults is a highly dedicated Adult Social Care Team working across the Dunstable, Houghton Regis, and Leighton Buzzard areas of Central Bedfordshire.

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Social Worker to join our busy and multi-skilled Adult Community Assessment Team.  The Team is committed to supporting people to be as independent as possible with a strong focus on improving individual outcomes in a strength based, person centred way, the use of Integrated TEC and creative solutions. You will be expected to complete holistic assessments as required by the Care Act 2014 which also include Mental Capacity Assessments and Safeguarding investigations. Working for us, you can expect to be valued for your positive and dynamic practice, be assisted to continue to develop as a practitioner within a supportive learning environment and operate within a ‘can do’ culture.  Your contribution in helping us to succeed could enable you to discover your greatness.

You will need to have the skills that help us achieve the delivery of excellent person-centred approaches. You will value working in partnership with the people we support and sound evidence-based practice and understand that best practice results in best value.  You will know the importance of enabling people to be supported to be as independent as possible for as long as possible and that having a strong connection with local services and communities can make a real difference to people's lives and overall wellbeing.

Adult Services is fully committed to working collaboratively with our health/partnership organisation colleagues to provide a seamless multi-agency response in supporting residents with their health and social care needs. Our collective practice has a strong focus on early prevention and optimising levels of independence. The Community Assessment Service is continually striving to ensure that best practice is delivered to the people we serve and is investing heavily in being a vibrant, supportive, and inspiring place to work; this will be improved dramatically with the Integrated Health and Care Hub development currently being built. A modern, high tech facility that will revolutionise services for people which is scheduled to open April 2023 allowing our practitioners to operate as part of a single site multi-disciplinary team.    A fly through of the Integrated Health and Care hub in Dunstable | Central Bedfordshire Council - Bing videoCentral Bedfordshire is a thriving; growing community and we work with people who have a range of diverse needs. We are a progressive team who offer manageable caseloads and a friendly, supportive work environment, which will include the allocation of a buddy when you first start.

The successful candidate must have a recognised Social Work qualification and have completed the ASYE programme or have experience in Adult Social Care. You will need to be currently Social Work England registered.
