The starting salary for this role is £40,227 - £44,619 per annum based on a 36 hour working week.
The administrative base for Legal Services is Woodhatch Place (Reigate), however, we adopt an agile working policy with flexible working arrangements, including access to our office in Weybridge as well as remote working options. We intend to continue working in a flexible manner in the future. The team are very approachable (even when working remotely!) so there will always be someone to provide you with support and discuss matters with.

We are looking to recruit a Contracts Lawyer with up to 2- 4 years post-qualifying experience, to join Surrey’s Contracts and Procurement Legal team, where you will have an unrivalled opportunity to actively and strategically contribute to the future delivery of first-class legal services. You will be supported by both the Principal Lawyer and Senior Lawyer to develop your knowledge and experience in relation to contracts and procurement matters.

Legal Services play a key role in delivering timely, clear and effective legal advice, and representation to the Council. The Contracts and Procurement Team is responsible for supporting and advising the Council on an array of commercial related matters and can guarantee exposure to a breadth of work, so you never stop learning and developing your expertise!
We are looking to recruit a flexible, motivated and ambitious Lawyer, with experience of:
- Providing advice and dealing with contract and procurement matters
- Managing your own caseload alongside supporting junior members of the team
- Flexibility to prioritise workloads and provide commercial and solution focus advice
- Being a team player who supports colleagues and the work of the team
- Attendance at, and positive contributions to, meetings
- Advising senior officers and elected members of the Council
- Public procurement law and multi-disciplinary projects
