Call Centre Operator (Older Persons)
Up to 12 month fixed term contract
Starting salary £26,340 pro rata with potential progression to £28,509 pro rata on achieving designated skills and experience inclusive of shift allowance
30 hours per week
Shift pattern covering 24 hours a day, 365 days per year

Here at Welwyn Hatfield, we pride ourselves in the services we provide to the some of the most vulnerable residents in the Borough. Our team plays a key role in promoting independence and ensuring our customers can remain in their homes and live independently for as long as possible.
Our Communication Centre provides an emergency service to around 7000 households, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You will be joining a busy team to provide emergency support to our community. You will be working alongside the wider Independent Living Team, supporting the Independent Living Officers / Mobile Wardens who are based out in the community in providing the very best service to our residents.
You will offer reassurance, assess situations and ensure that the appropriate services and personnel attend the scene of the emergency. Outside of office hours, you will also be the first point of contact for all council emergencies including repairs.
With experience of working in a pressurised environment, you will be able to deal calmly and tactfully with all kinds of calls and will be sensitive to the needs of the callers and have a genuine interest in their well-being.
Working a shift pattern that covers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, you must also be able to cover overtime shifts, often at short notice. This will include day, evening and overnight shifts. The shift times are:
- 6:00 - 12:00
- 12:00 - 18:00
- 18:00 - Midnight
- Midnight - 6:00
