Licensing Technician

Sevenoaks District Council’s Licensing Partnership is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity to work in a developing Central Processing Hub Team, responsible for processing applications on behalf of four Licensing Authorities and providing administrative support.

We are looking to appoint a full-time or part-time, permanent Licensing Technician, knowledge of Local Authority licensing regimes is essential for this post.

The Role

The main duties will include processing licence applications and renewals for taxis, applications made under the Licensing Act 2003 and Gambling Act 2005, Charity Collections and Boat Licences. Additional responsibilities will include answering general licensing queries generated from telephone calls and emails.

Members of the Licensing Hub Team process high volumes of work, hit internal performance targets and deliver a high standard of accuracy, whilst balancing an equally high volume of telephone queries where concise informative advice is given.

The successful candidate should have the ability to learn and retain information quickly, be an excellent communicator and bring fresh ideas and help drive the success of the Partnership. This position would suit an applicant who has experience working within a busy environment similar to a call centre.  

This role will be based at our Council Offices, Argyle Road, Sevenoaks Kent TN13 1HG. We currently operate a hybrid working model for the majority of our roles where your working time will be divided between the office (2-3 days) and home working (2-3 days).
