On 27 October 2021, the government announced a further investment of over £200 million per year over the next 3 financial years for the holiday activities and food programme (HAF), which follows the successful roll out of the programme across England in 2021.
We are now recruiting for a full-time Holiday Activity and Food Coordinator. The successful candidate will lead and be responsible for coordinating the delivery of the Holiday Activity and Food programme across the Lancaster District.
You will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of the Activities and Food Programme (HAF) throughout 2022. You will work with colleagues and partners to deliver an engaging holiday activity programme over the Summer and Winter for children and young people (of school age) eligible for free school meals. You will be highly motivated and organised and have experience in multi-agency partnership working and managing project delivery. You will work collaboratively with internal departments as well as the voluntary community sector to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of the HAF grants.
You will make sure provision is inclusive and available for children with SEND or additional needs and manage the distribution and monitoring of funding to holiday activity and food providers.
You will have a degree in a specialist subject area and /or significant relevant experience and evidence of delivering large scale collaborative projects.
This is a full-time position 37 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7, some evening and weekend work may be required. This is a fixed term post until 31st March 2023.
The Council currently operates an excellent Flexible Working Hours Scheme which applies to this post. Subject to the needs of this business, this may allow employees to work between the hours of 6:00am-10:30pm.
