Housing Needs Team Leader

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional who wishes to lead the Housing Needs Officers to deliver and continuously improve, promote and develop the highest customer care standards. The successful candidate will support the Housing Needs Operations Manager to manage the operational activity of the Housing Needs team while it continues to adapt and evolve in response to the demands of the Homelessness Reduction Act.

The successful candidate will provide casework supervision in the delivery and development of the Housing Options Service and ensure that the most complex clients are provided with effective professional advice and assistance tailored to suit their individual needs.

We are looking for applicants with supervisory experience in a multi-disciplined customer focused service along with significant experience of working in a housing or housing related field and in-depth knowledge of the current housing legislation and relevant case law.

The ideal candidate will be resilient and flexible; have excellent organisational skills; be confident in analysing complex information to form user-friendly briefings and reports, with the capability to evaluate performance and present findings to a number of key officers within the Council on a regular basis. They will also have experience of setting and achieving high standards for themselves and their team, with the ability to quickly build a rapport with a diverse range of stakeholders and partners; possessing strong communication skills and the ability to use initiative and ingenuity in handling more complex and serious housing issues for residents to prevent homelessness. They must also have the ability to travel around the Borough.
