Waste Collections Driver

Waste Collections/Recycling Collections Drivers - Class 2 HGV Driver (Class 2 HGV Licence & current CPC Required)

Contract Type:  Permanent

Location:  Central Depot, Folkestone Road, East Ham, London, E6 6BX

Salary: £27,978 - £28,992 Plus an additional £1,435 - £1,514 per annum in overtime payments for working 8 x Saturdays following bank holidays and the three working days between Christmas and New Year, which is a requirement of this position’.
Plus a retention payment of £2000, pro-rata for drivers joining the Council between 01.01.22 – 31.12.22, payable on completion of a successful six month probationary period.

About the Job

Our recycling collections are currently provided on a fortnightly basis, however we are moving to a weekly service and need to appoint an additional 8 x HGV Drivers to our team.

We are changing the way we deliver our services for our residents and you could play a key role in increasing our recycling rates, reducing waste and improving the environment for our residents. If you are a qualified HGV Driver with a positive approach to your work and are seeking a new opportunity then we would like to hear from you.

Working Hours:

Working on a 36 hour per week shift pattern, we are looking for customer focused, friendly and flexible drivers to join our afternoon / evening team of staff starting at 2pm Monday – Friday.

All positions require some Saturday working around each of the bank holidays (paid at overtime rate).

Uniform will be provided.

Please note a current HGV class 2 licence and CPC is required.
