Salary: NJC Grade D1 point 4 £9.81 per hour
The Skills for Life Trust, currently comprises two secondary academies and three primary academies: Greenacre Academy, Walderslade Girls’ School, Warren Wood Primary Academy, Hilltop Primary Academy and Chantry Community Academy.
We are seeking appoint additional Minibus Drivers to expand our existing team working across the Trust. The successful applicants will be responsible for a range of duties and responsibilities connected with driving of the academy’s minibuses, and ensuring the security and safety of passengers and vehicles in line with legal requirements.
Applicants will be expected to hold a full, clean driving licence with D1 entitlement (without 101 restriction) and at least 4 years driving experience
The Skills for Life Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS Check) and the receipt of two satisfactory references.
In accordance with the statutory guidance laid out in Keeping Children Safe in Education 2022 para 221 we will undertake an online search on shortlisted candidates as part of the due diligence checks. These searches are necessary for the Trust to meet its statutory/ safeguarding obligations and to uphold the reputation of the Trust.
The online searches the Trust may carry out includes searches of internet search engines, websites and social media platforms. Applicants are not required to provide account passwords or grant the school access to private social media accounts.
In carrying out online searches, the Trust will be looking for publicly available information about the applicant that may be relevant to their suitability to work with children and/or may have an impact on the Trust’s reputation.
Where possible, this check will be conducted by someone not involved with the interview process. Any pertinent information found will be passed to the interview panel and may be discussed with the candidate at interview stage.
The information generated from online searches, notes of the shortlisting panel and details of the scoring will be retained for six months from the appointment date in line with the Trust’s document retention schedule. Documents will be securely disposed of.
