Planner (Degree apprentice)

Planner (Degree Apprenticeship)

The post is for three years and for the first two (starting in September 2022) you will attend Brighton University for one day a week to undertake the degree apprentice qualification. This apprenticeship is based on the 2 year degree course (not the 4 year degree course). Following the successful completion of those two years you will then work for approximately a further year on a full time basis until the end point assessment enabling you to become a Chartered Town Planner (MRTPI).

In the work place you will undertake a range of planning tasks including assisting with the processing of applications whilst they are being made valid and administrative functions whilst they are being determined to writing reports on various types of applications and assisting more senior team members in preparing their reports. The role will adapt and develop across the three years.

You will need a relevant qualification and need to be accepted on to the course for the start of the academic year. (Please see link above for details).

The job is based at the Civic Centre in Littlehampton and this will be your contractual job location. However, there may be some working from home, at least initially, and so will need an appropriate space to work from.

Whilst not essential a driving licence/access to a car will help you get the most out of the job as it involves attending site visits, generally starting in the second year.

Interviews, via MS Teams, will be on 27 July 2022 and the successful candidate will need to be in a position to be accepted by the University to commence studies on 26 September 2022.

Closing date: 30 June 2022, 23.59pm

Interview date: 27 July 2022
