Learning Mentor: Permanent, NJC Grade 6, Part-time (17.5 hrs p/w) Term Time only

The Governors and Headteacher wish to appoint an enthusiastic and imaginative Learning Mentor to a part-time, permanent role, to run group ELSA sessions across a wide range of age groups.

The successful candidate will join a caring, supportive school team, committed to raising standards for all children. Applicants must be committed to improving outcomes for children and young people, some of whom will have special educational needs and who may struggle with social, emotional and behavioural problems that affect their ability to learn. The successful candidate will work with pupils both individually and in small groups, supporting them to overcome barriers to learning, providing positive behaviour support and delivering other focused interventions. Applicants must have good personal skills, and be able to build trust with learners who may be experiencing a range of disadvantages. A warm and caring personality, patience, and the ability to build rapport with pupils and staff are important to the successful fulfilment of this role.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of its children. The successful candidate will follow a stringent vetting process and be required to complete an enhanced DBS disclosure.

The post is offered on a permanent contract, for 17.5 hours over 3 days per week on NJC Grade 6.

The closing date is 12 noon on Friday, 24 June. Applications should be emailed to Mrs High at bursar@huntington.cheshire.sch.uk
