The Economy and Tourism Team at Winchester City Council is seeking a Business Growth Officer to lead on delivering the actions arising from the new ten-year Green Economic Development Strategy (GEDS) and in encouraging business start-up, growth, and investment in the district.
The post plays a key role in supporting a vibrant local economy ensuring the Winchester district is home to a host of successful businesses and enterprises with high levels of employment in both urban and rural areas. The role is crucial in supporting our high streets and town centres by encouraging new investment and repurposing vacant units. It will also support businesses in meeting the challenges of achieving carbon neutrality and encouraging ‘green growth’.
This role is ideal for a project manager within economic development or someone with experience of delivering strategies. The candidate will be an effective communicator who can manage multiple external partnerships and projects, identify funding opportunities, support funding bids, and seek new opportunities for supporting business growth.
Join the busy, friendly team at Winchester City Council to build on our successful track record of supporting the district’s local economy, as we focus on recovery and future growth.
Interview date: Thursday 21 July 2022.
