Major Works Officer

Asset management and housing management services for tenants and leaseholders of Lewes District Council and Eastbourne Borough Council is now being delivered by Homes First.  Launched in Spring 2018, Homes First amalgamates Lewes District Council's in house management of social housing with Eastbourne Borough Council’s arms length management organisation (ALMO) Eastbourne Homes Ltd. Homes First manages a combined property portfolio of over 8,500 homes and will invest almost £20M per annum in maintenance, service contracts, major repairs and improvements. Homes First has a varied property portfolio from rural individual properties to flats in busy town centres Our service is also growing as the Councils' new investment companies develop new housing covering a range of different tenures and accommodation types.

The in-house Property Services Team will design and manage a proactive programme of major works to Homes First housing stock. The post-holder will be responsible for supporting the team and dealing with the administration processes that underpin the service delivered to customers (tenants, leaseholders, shared owners and other stakeholders). The post-holder needs to be a competent communicator with experience of delivering excellent customer service.

The post holder will be the first point of contact for customers and contractors undertaking the contracts for major works. Duties will include arranging appointments, writing letters and constructing mail merges, placing orders, processing invoices, taking notes/minutes as required and ensuring IT systems are updated as a consequence of the major works projects.
