Payroll Apprentice

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed Payroll Apprentice to join the Payroll Team within the HR Services Department.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual to gain a level 3 qualification as a Payroll Administrator whilst working for a large, diverse, rapidly changing forward thinking organisation.

You will be working in a busy fast paced payroll team, assisting with the delivery of a comprehensive payroll and pensions service for Medway Council, Gravesham Borough Council and other associated External Business including Academies and Schools.

We are looking to recruit a dynamic and motivated individual with the right attitude who is keen to learn new skills and develop their payroll knowledge and experience.

 

Main Purpose of the Job Role

Ensure good communication with all managers, staff and stakeholders, working towards providing a high level of customer service and resolving queries efficiently and effectively so salary payments are accurate.

Assist with the day-to-day payroll administration (data input, payroll calculations, reconciliation, filing and checking reports) seeking advice when necessary to help develop your own skills and knowledge.

Ability to plan and manage own workload taking instructions from the Payroll Team Leader.

Working as part of the team in to provide a high level of customer service, resolving queries efficiently and effectively.

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Payroll Apprentice to join the Payroll & Pensions Team within the HR Service Department. This is a great chance to gain the Business Administrator Advanced Apprenticeship (Payroll level 3 qualification)

As part of this role, you will be working as part of a team delivering the payroll function, your tasks will be focused on the accurate processing and administration of the payroll system to enable the organisation to provide excellent service to its customers.

 

For Level 3 Apprentice’s - The Business Administrator Apprenticeship is a two year programme incorporating real work experience and learning, to gain the knowledge and development of skills and behaviours to successfully complete the programme. This apprenticeship involves approximately 18 months on the job development, followed by an end point assessment consisting of a knowledge test, a presentation on the project completed; and a discussion on the portfolio of learning and development produced during the apprenticeship. A grading of either Pass or Distinction is achievable.

Ideally you will have good communication and interpersonal skills, combined with competent IT skills, accurate data entry along with a good attention to detail.
