Solicitor (Housing & Litigation) M343

Permanent, full-time (37 hours per week)

Are you a qualified Solicitor or Barrister with experience in litigation and housing law? An exciting opportunity to join Charnwood Borough Council’s Legal Services team has arisen and we are seeking a qualified lawyer to provide key support with all aspects of litigation and housing law.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and confident Solicitor or Barrister who is passionate about law with a strong focus on customer services to join our small, dynamic and forward-thinking Legal Services team.

We offer agile working, including home working and flexible hours. We have full administrative support and a modern, efficient case management system. We also offer a generous annual leave entitlement and local government pension scheme.

Previous local government experience is desired but not essential, provided you have experience in the relevant areas of law.  We are committed to developing our people and we will support you through supervised training by senior fee earners and by providing internal and external training courses.

Candidates need to be highly motivated, proactive and committed legal professionals looking for a new challenge with the ability to work autonomously whilst still being able to work as part of a team.

If you feel you have the necessary experience and skills to undertake this role we would like to hear from you.

We base selection on job related criteria. Disabled people and ethnic minorities are particularly welcome to apply as they are underrepresented at the Council. Disabled people who meet the essential criteria will be interviewed.

For an informal discussion, please telephone Nicola Ford (Legal Services Manager) on 07712 768409.
