The Records and Data Manger role is part of the ICT Services and Information Governance team and having started on a journey of true change we want more passionate individuals to join our team.

We're not a big team but have broad reach and so your role will stretch across all areas of the organisation and as we're a helpful bunch you'll have lots of opportunity to work with different groups of individuals to bring your expertise into the heart of the organisation.

You will be supported to carry out the following duties, responsibilities and training...

The Records and Data Manager is responsible for the governance, safeguarding and delivery of information held by Bracknell Forest Council alongside roles such as the Data Protection Officer and Senior Information Risk Officer. This role will provide knowledge and expertise in the physical and digital record holdings in line with relevant legislation, define clear policies for use of related systems, and ensure business continuity.

What we're looking for...

  • Someone who can review our existing records lifecycle, ensuring adequate retention and disposal as and when required and amend or implement new as necessary.
  • Someone to develop and embed best practice records management policies and procedures.
  • Someone to support projects that deliver a changeover from paper to electronic records management systems.
  • Regular analysis of data systems and maintenance of accurate records and establish protocol to share records with upper management, senior leadership, clients, partners or other key stakeholders.
  • Review and authorise any system changes that may affect data maintenance, analysis, reports or storage.
