Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.
The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.
We have an exciting opportunity to work within the Housing Property Services team at a time when there are major changes to legislation that are driving how we manage our repairs and maintenance service. As the Repairs Manager you will be key to ensuring that we deliver a high quality responsive repairs service.
You will be responsible for managing the day to day building repairs contract ensuring the contractor is performing highly against each Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and that we continue to receive value for money. This role will work closely with our planned works team providing key data to inform our ongoing planned repairs programme.
You will have experience of repairs and maintenance in a housing organisation of a similar size. You will have a track record of managing high performing repairs contracts with a good understanding of how to deal with poor performance from internal teams and contractors.
You will have contract and staff management experience of both technical and non-technical staff, and good technical knowledge of repairs and maintenance. You will need to be comfortable working in a pressurised but supportive environment.
