A breadth of experience, a focus on qualifications.

In Kensington and Chelsea, we put local people and local businesses at the heart of decision-making, working in partnership with them to provide quality services that are responsive, effective and efficient. We depend on our Internal Audit team to guide and challenge the way we work at every level of the organisation, and to help us mitigate risk in critical areas such as income management. This expertise is shared in a tri -borough agreement with Westminster City Council and Hammersmith and Fulham to strengthen governance and performance in all three boroughs.

The Role:

This is a unique opportunity to work across three flagship councils on the full spectrum of system audits and reviews, broadening your experience as you build towards recognised professional qualifications. You will interact with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including our customers, and may also have the opportunity to take on project-based value-for-money studies, project reviews and other specialist assignments.

Lasting 18 months, your apprenticeship programme will help you grow in your role and gain valuable skills and experiences for your current and future work. Around 20% of your working hours will be devoted to workshops online learning, coaching and other professional development activities. By the end of your training, you will have an in-depth insight into the workings of three high-profile local authorities and will work towards the IIA Practitioner Level 4 apprenticeship standard.
