The Opportunity

Enfield is a dynamic and progressive London Borough with excellent links to the city and central areas as well as Hertfordshire and Essex. With the focus for London’s future growth on outer London and recognising its location along the strategically important London - Stansted corridor, there are a range of significant development opportunities. We want your skills and vision to help realise their potential.

Headlining our ambitious growth agenda is the Borough’s largest residential led mixed use development at Meridian Water where our aspiration is to deliver upwards of 10000 new homes and 6000 jobs. Alongside new public open spaces, shops, community facilities and a new railway station, this is a key opportunity to shape and deliver a landmark residential scheme within London.

Our ambitions don’t end there as we are in discussions on several major regeneration schemes across the Borough including proposals for Enfield Town, Brimsdown, Edmonton and Southgate to deliver new high-quality mixed use residential led developent which meets the modern housing and employment needs of our residents.

We need you to help us achieve this vision.

The Roles

This is an opportunity for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to gain exceptional experience and make a real difference to the future lives of our residents.

You will play a pivotal role in progressing a number of key regeneration projects, with a focus on larger strategic / corporate schemes, delivering high quality development outcomes successfully through the statutory development management process.

Excellent customer focus is essential as is your ability to manage these projects to agreed timescales and quality criteria. For this role you will need to be confident and effective in dealing with applicants and their agents, Councillors, residents and other key stakeholders.

Successful candidates will have acquired substantial practical experience within a development management environment with a strong track record project managing major regeneration projects through the planning process and achieving high quality outcomes. In addition, you will have a degree in Town and Country Planning and will have worked in development management at a local authority in the UK over a sustained period coupled with an in-depth knowledge of planning legislation.

To help you help us, we can offer opportunities for personal development including flexible working or compressed hours, home working opportunities, generous annual leave, training opportunities and a friendly working environment.

To be eligible to apply for a secondment, Enfield Council employees must have completed probation and must have discussed/agreed the proposed secondment with their line manager. Fixed term contracts may be considered where secondment is not possible.
