An interesting career opportunity with on-the-job training resulting in an apprentice qualification has come up within Broxbourne Council’s busy Internal Audit service. As an apprentice, you will support the team in delivering audits across Broxbourne, Epping and Harlow councils, as well as ad-hoc tasks required by the Head of Internal Audit, such as investigations and supporting group projects.


Working with fellow auditors, you will undertake a range of financial and non-financial audits, assessing the effectiveness of controls and risk management systems in place and identifying opportunities for improvement in those processes.


You will do on-the-job training for four days per week, and college/study activities leading to a level 2 or level 3 AAT Apprentice qualification on one day per week during term time from September 2022. This role may lead to a future permanent post and the opportunity to study for a professional Internal Audit qualification.


We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed individual, educated to A Level standard - ideally with two good A Levels and GCSE passes in maths and English. You must be a hardworking team player with good written and interpersonal skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to problem solve. They must also have a current valid driving licence and their own transport.


The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in fluent English is essential in this post.
