A vacancy has arisen for a Workshop Technical Co-Ordinator position in Wirral Council Parks and Countryside Horticultural engineering workshop based at Ebenezer St Rock Ferry.

The main duty of the post includes the service, repair, and maintenance planning of Turfcare, Agricultural and Arboriculture equipment owned by the council and the overview of work carried out by other members of the fitting staff based there to ensure high and safe standards.

It is also part of the post to oversee the control of the mechanical and parts stores including the ordering and receiving of parts and machinery from suppliers where required.

The successful applicant will also carry out familiarisation and training on equipment where required to other members of staff across the authority along with volunteers and designated people.

The applicant must be able to work unsupervised individually and as part of a team to ensure safe practices and procedures along with initiative and dynamic thinking.

The successful applicant will help support council wide apprenticeship schemes and oversee any apprentice assigned to workshops.

Reporting to the Workshop Manager the post will provide support for the manager and cover for the Manager in periods of absence in all aspects of the job including administration, communication, and work planning.

Salary is Craft Grade E37 +10% (inc allowances where applicable) plus fixed bonus

FTP 37Hrs per week Mon-Fri although some out of hours and weekends may be required.
