Teaching Assistant AAAD5028 – 1:1 in Year 1
Temporary (one year initially): 30 hours per week (5 days), 38 weeks per year
Huntington Community Primary School
The Governors of this happy and successful primary school (retained Ofsted ‘Good’, February 2018) seek to appoint an experienced and confident Teaching Assistant who can support a Year 1 child with learning needs. We are looking for a team player who has relevant, recent experience, high expectations and a commitment to ensure that the children they support achieve their potential. Applicants should have the ability to identify and support pupils’ needs proactively and bring their experience of intervention programmes and 1:1 support to bear to maximise the child’s progress: particular understanding of speech and language development and Makaton would be beneficial. Excellent interpersonal skills are a prerequisite of the post, and a willingness to contribute positively to our team and to become involved in the wider aspects of school life is also important.
Huntington Community Primary School is wholly committed to the safety of its children. Any appointment would be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and positive references.
At this time, candidates are encouraged to research our website to gain an understanding of the school. The closing date is 12 noon on 16 December, after which shortlisted candidates will be contacted to arrange an interview.
This post, commencing as soon as possible, is offered as a 9 month contract initially, for 5 days (30 hours) a week. The application form and a person specification are attached for you to download. Applications should be submitted by email to Mrs High at firstname.lastname@example.org .
