Tunbridge Wells Borough Council is an exciting place to work and within the Planning Department we are dealing with an increasing number of major developments as well as at the same time seeking to allocate further development in the emerging Local Plan to deliver growth until 2036.                                                                                                      

In order to assist in securing the funding and delivery of the necessary infrastructure and affordable housing there are two posts which monitor Section 106 legal agreements to ensure the timely receipt of all contributions/delivery on site.  This vacancy is for one of those positions. 

The role has two main purposes, firstly, to deal with and recommend an outcome for applications that are made to discharge conditions on approved applications and secondly, the monitoring of and securing payments in relation to Section 106 agreements (and CIL, in the event that CIL is adopted).

To fulfil this role we are looking for dedicated people with excellent organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail.

This is a post that is suitable for someone looking for a route into planning that may not have a relevant planning qualification. The Council is provides training and we have a number of officers that have undertaken a planning qualification as part of their career development.

The Council is operating a flexible working arrangement with a minimum of two days in the office and the opportunity to work at home for the remainder of the week.
