About the role
Working within our Streetworks team, you will be responsible for the assessment of incoming Streetworks permit, license and temporary Traffic Regulation Order (generally road closure) applications. This will include the review of the impact to the travelling public to minimise disruption and reduce congestion on the public highway in accordance with legislative requirements, (specifically the New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991 and the Traffic Management Act 2004), in association with the Wokingham Borough Council permit scheme. You will also be responsible for posting street and roadwork information to social media. The role will also ensure that the council’s high standard of customer care are maintained in view of the Streetworks function.
You will need to be motivated, flexible and well organised with good computer skills and excellent communication skills. You will also need to be adaptable and able to overcome problems.
You will have knowledge of Streetworks legislative requirements specifically New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991, Traffic Management Act 1991 and associated codes of practice.
