Head of Neighbourhood and Environmental Health Services

We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated and experienced leader to join the existing Neighbourhoods and Community Services Senior Management Team to build upon our successes and achievements in improving services and outcomes for the people of Knowsley.

You will bring a strategic focus alongside the ability to think creatively and provide scrutiny and challenge in repsect of our Waste Management and Environmental Health services.  

The role of Head of Neighbourhoods and Environmental Health will involve leading and providing strategic directon for our highly regarded key resident services including refuse, recycling, street cleansing and environmental health. 

The successful candidate will provide dynamic leadership and strategic vision to drive forward the key transformation agenda in the Waste Management service which will be required to meet the national changes in legislation.

Strong leadership skills will be required together with a proven track record of managing high quality, customer focused multi-disciplinary teams, implementing change, operating at the political/management interface and working collaboratively with partners.

As well as experience of leading these services and delivering transformational change, the successful candidate should have exceptional communication and engagement skills along with experience of working collaboratively with Elected Members, partner organisations, community groups and other key stakeholders to improve outcomes for residents. A successful track record of delivering savings, efficiencies and service improvements within an environmental management setting is also essential.
