The Board of Governors at Dawpool Church of England (Aided) Primary School are seeking to recruit a permanent part time SENCo and Inclusion Manager from 1st January 2023, or earlier if possible. This is a non-teaching 0.6 contract. 

Dawpool Primary School serves the local community of Thurstaston and Irby and is situated in a unique and beautiful rural setting, nestled into Thurstaston Hill on the edge of Royden Park. 

We are a very happy, successful and popular school with a distinctive Christian vision, with Jesus’ promise of “an abundant life” at the heart of all we do. The SENCo and Inclusion Manager will have an unrelenting drive to support the Dawpool community in realising its Christian vision, working to develop SEN systems, policies and structures to enable the flourishing of all children in our care. 

Dawpool is a fully inclusive school devoted to the wellbeing and progress of every child and where all members of our community are of equal worth. The SENCo and Inclusion Manager will have the skills to build strong relationships with our school community, reaching out and stepping alongside staff, pupils and families to ensure they are well supported in all aspects of SEN and Inclusion. 

The successful candidate will have:

Commitment to working in Church of England education.

An ability to articulate Dawpool’s Christian vision and values, working alongside all stakeholders to ensure that all of our pupils are able to benefit from and enjoy ‘the abundant life that Jesus offers.’

Relevant previous experience as a SENCo with the drive and passion for further professional development

A thorough knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice.

Knowledge of SEN systems and processes in Wirral and experience of using them.

Experience of working closely with other schools and SENCOs. 

Close links with SEN agencies, professionals and networks.

A passion for high quality inclusive teaching and learning.

Excellent inter-personal and communication skills.
