Senior Support Worker

Halton Supported Housing Network is looking for a Senior Support Worker to work within a busy supported living service.

Candidates must be able to supervise, motivate and allocate work to a team of support workers by ensuring records are updated, regular team meetings are held and medication is administered by staff in accordance with policy and procedures. You must ensure that tenants'  finance is monitored and that staff adhere to the policy and procedures.

You should be proactive and able to work as part of a team, be flexible with working hours and complete an on call rota. You must be able to drive and have use of a vehicle. You should ensure compliance with statutory requirements, council policy and procedures. You will monitor and order goods, collate and cross reference documents and support tenants to appointments. You will be responsible for the health and safety of equipment and operations across houses in accordance with the Health and Safety at work act.

 You must have 5 GCSEs Grade C or above, or equivalent qualifications, including maths and English. You must have a minimum level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care and substantial experience of working in a care setting. The prospective candidate should be an excellent communicator providing excellent customer service to tenants and their families and appointees. Candidates should have experience in providing supervision and performance reviews, be forward thinking and have the ability to work in difficult situations. You must be approachable and want to improve people’s lives and promote independence with in our service. Candidates should be proficient in the use of Microsoft, packages, Excel, word and outlook and have the ability to write and present comprehensive reports.
