This role is flexible meaning you aren’t required to be in the office five days a week. We’re interested in the work you do, not where you do it and welcome a conversation with the successful candidates on what working for North Somerset Council looks like for you.
Here in North Somerset, we have a vision to be open, fair and green and are seeking project managers to support projects that will help us achieve this vision. You’ll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects that will significantly reshape the development and delivery of our services. From our new ways of working programme to the ongoing development of our Programme Management Office, you’ll be involved in projects that will make an impact and improve the lives of our residents and our businesses.
Ideally, you’ll have practical experience in various project management methodologies such as Prince 2 and Agile, and of change management processes and approaches, though formal qualifications whilst desirable are not essential and we can offer the opportunity for you to gain a recognised qualification. You’ll be someone who is comfortable taking the initiative to deliver a wide-ranging, and often complex, workload.
We value relationship building skills so experience of working successfully with a range of stakeholders to support project management understanding, while identifying opportunities and converting them quickly into successful projects would be an advantage.
In return we offer a supportive, flexible working environment with significant opportunities for continued professional development.
This role is also offered as a secondment opportunity available to North Somerset Council Staff. Please ensure you have the permission of your line manager before applying.
